Digital Production Bundles: Print-to-Part on the Shop Floor

Every shop is asking the same questions about G-Code rev control. Turns out, those questions were just the beginning.

When we introduced our G-Code Cloud™ + DNC platform at IMTS 2024 to help solve some longstanding but fairly painful workflows in G-Code Management, little did we know how much more was hiding behind these common issues:

  • Are we running the latest rev of the program?
  • Who modified it?
  • What changes did they make?
  • When did they make them?
  • Who approved it?
  • Are we using the right setup sheet?
  • Has the tooling list been updated since last rev?
  • Did the operator see the latest print?

As a company that has been very focused on fixing what was broken in Production Monitoring since our inception, I was shocked to hear these were ongoing challenges. After all, DNC systems have been around for a while (just look at their UI; it’s clear which decade they were built). Fortunately, through strong customer pull, we learned that these are very real problems that are largely unaddressed and poorly supported. Most importantly, there aren’t many options that start with modern-era, web-first architecture built to help you achieve CMMC 2.0 compliance and provide a truly deep connection to Production Monitoring data. We decided we needed to do a lot more than just slosh G-Code across the network while making you think about baud rates and bit settings—we needed to deliver a totally new experience that solves the workflow automation challenges of today’s labor-constrained environment.

Enter Digital Production Bundles

The feedback from our first G-Code Cloud™ + DNC demonstrations was immediate and consistent. “As we started doing early demonstrations of G-Code Cloud™ + DNC, the feedback was clear. “What about Setup Sheets? Tooling Sheets? The print of the part? I want it all, together, under rev control, digitally accessible at the machine.”

Datanomix Digital Production Bundles

Datanomix has always been, and always will be, customer-driven in our product and roadmap choices, so the answer was an easy and emphatic “yes!”

In addition to fine-grained rev control for your programs, G-Code Cloud + DNC supports PDF rendering, STL rendering, and G-Code syntax highlighting, so that any asset you deem worthy of being in a Digital Production Bundle is tagged, connected to its rev, and accessible at the machine where it’s needed.

G-Code Cloud™ + DNC, coupled with our Production Monitoring, connects the whole organization from Print to Part. Engineering, Planning/Scheduling, Operations, and Operators all speak the same language in one simple workflow. Unlike Product Data Management (PDM) software, which is ultimately another point solution that is focused solely on the engineering workflow, this connects the entire operation, not just one piece of it.

Part Recipes Delivered Right to Operators via Machine HUD

A bundle that lives in the cloud is only useful if the operator can get to it. A bundle contains one or more part recipes — one per machine that runs the part. The right recipe is delivered through the Machine Heads Up Display (HUD), the same workspace operators already use for production monitoring. Setup sheets, tooling sheets, and prints are right there alongside the recipe.

Close the CMMC Gap Most Haven’t Thought About

Most shops in the DoD supply chain are starting to lock down their G-Code as Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). But G-Code is only one piece. Setup sheets, tooling sheets, work instructions, and the print of the part can all be CUI too — and most are still on shared drives, in email, or clipped to the bench. Digital Production Bundles close that gap. Every asset in the bundle inherits the same rev control, audit trail, encryption, and access controls as the G-Code itself. Here’s the deeper read on what CMMC Phase 2 means for manufacturers in November 2026.

See it on your shop’s machines.

If your shop is still managing setup sheets, tooling lists, and prints separately from your G-Code, that’s the gap Digital Production Bundles closes. Schedule a demo or request a pilot, and we’ll show you what it looks like on your machines.

The G-code piece of your CMMC plan. Traceability, compliance, and control — all in a GovCloud-hosted platform.
